English[edit]
Noun[edit]
intradirective verb (plural intradirective verbs)
- (grammar) An intransitive verb in which the subject both actively performs and undergoes the action, as in verbs of motion such as walk, go, fly.
- In "I walked to the store", the verb 'walk' is intradirective, as the person undergoing the action is myself; in "I walked the dog" I no longer undergo the action, and the verb is transitive.
